Privacy policy

If you only read guides or use the tools

The calculator and checklist run in your browser; the numbers and checkmarks you enter aren't sent to us. We record basic, non-identifying usage events — the page path, the page you landed on, the referring website, campaign tags in the link (utm values), and actions such as “used the calculator” or “clicked an affiliate link” — to understand which pages help people.

The site also loads Google Tag Manager, which may load analytics or advertising tags that set cookies and collect device and usage information under those providers' own policies.

Some pages link to Foreclosure.com or RentToOwnHomes.cc with our affiliate ID in the web address. Following one takes you to that site, where it may set its own cookies, for example to credit us if you buy a membership. We don't send it your name, email, or anything you entered on our site.

Some pages also show Foreclosure.com's alert sign-up form or its listings in a separate frame. What you type into that form goes straight to Foreclosure.com under its own privacy policy; we don't see or store it. The partner widget may set Foreclosure.com analytics cookies. It runs apart from our own analytics, so it doesn't send data to our Google Tag Manager.

If you take the readiness check

We collect your answers and what you type in the form:

• Name and email (required), and phone number (optional)
• Your answers: what you're looking for, the state and city you picked, when you want to move, your self-reported credit range, about how much credit card or personal debt you have, and your savings range. We don't check your credit.
• Whether you agreed to calls or texts, the exact consent wording you saw and when you agreed
• Where your visit started: the first page you landed on, the page you came to the check from and which button you used, campaign tags in the link, and ad click IDs (Google's gclid, Facebook's fbclid) if the link had them
• Your browser's user-agent and a one-way hash of your IP address (used for abuse prevention)

We use this to show your results, follow up by email, and point you to relevant guides. It is stored with our database provider (Supabase) and in our contact management system (GoHighLevel). We call or text only if you checked that option. Your credit range and debt range are never put in web addresses or sent to analytics tools.

Sharing

We don't sell personal information. The readiness check itself doesn't send your information to lenders, credit services, home sellers, or other partners. Service providers that host and process data for us (such as the database and contact-management providers above) handle it on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law.

When you ask for credit, debt or loan help

If you tick the box and ask for help with your credit or your debt, we may share your name, email, phone number, state, and the credit or debt range you gave with credit repair, debt relief, debt consolidation or lending partners, so they can contact you by phone, text or email about it. We keep a record of the exact wording you agreed to and when. We share it only when you ask, and you can tell us or the partner to stop at any time.

Your choices

To see, correct, or delete what you sent us, or to stop calls, texts, or emails, write to hello@renttoownguide.com from the email address you used. Residents of some states have additional rights under their state's privacy law.
